What's in a title?

So for this second entry I think I will explain the title on my blog.  


845 miles -- According to Google Maps 845 miles in the driving distance from my husband's home town of Cleburne, TX to my home town of Bloomington, IL.


An Empire -- For us Empire is were we have landed and started our home.  It is our little piece of the world to come home to with our children and 3 pets.  


We had to journey a long way with ups and downs to get to this point in our lives but we have and now we continue to move forward together.

New to this.....

So with some encouragement from my friends (that means you Kimberly) I am making an attempt at this blog thing.  Please bare with me as I get started.  


Today is my 34th Birthday and I am lucky enough to have a wonderful husband and 2 wonderful kids to celebrate with me.  Today we also got to celebrate our niece Klara's 5th birthday.  She was born on my 29th birthday 3 months after Jim and I started dating.  The following year on my 30th birthday my "soul mate" asked me to be his wife.  So for me my birthday has taken on more meaning than just being a year older.
